United Russia, Just Russia consolidates forces

The United Russia and the Just Russia parties have reached an agreement on consolidation of their activities as a result of a meeting with Speaker of Upper House of the Russian parliament and leader of the Just Russia party Sergei Mironov, Duma Speaker and Chairman of the United Russia High Council Boris Gryzlov told journalists on Monday.

The agreement stipulates that the Just Russia party reserves the right to defend its position on certain problems given that the Just Russia is a party in opposition to the United Russia, Gryzlov stressed.

The United Russia has pledged support to Sergei Mironov in the post of Chairman of the Federation Council, Gryzlov said.
