Sergei Mironov: Deployment of Russian peacekeepers in Karabakh unacceptable

Speaker of Russian Federation Council Sergey Mironov opposed sending of the Russian peacekeepers to Nagorno-Karabakh. According to him, it is a problem of the two sides, Armenia and Azerbaijan.

In an interview with Echo of Moscow Mironov said that the Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents hold meetings with the participation of RF President Dmitry Medvedev. He expressed hope that this format will continue.

He emphasized that only the conflicting parties can solve this problem and they should tackle it under mutually acceptable terms. When they agree on it, Russia will be ready to back the implementation of the arrangements. According to him, it is absolutely unacceptable to deploy troops in Nagorno-Karabakh.
