Sergei Mironov: "Russian people have passed their own sentence on nazism and stalinism"

24.08.2009

August, 24. Chairman of the Federation Council Sergei Mironov has stated, that Russian people have passed their own sentence on nazism and stalinism.

He has given an Interview to "Interfax" agency on the occasion of 70th anniversary of the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact, officially titled the Treaty of Non-Aggression between the Third German Reich and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and signed in Moscow in the early hours of August 23, 1939.

As Sergei Mironov has said, Russians remember now and will always remember their history for the sake of their future but not for getting back at somebody. "Our people have liberated themselves from the plague of nazism and after that renounced inhuman stalinism. It is enough to have no need in somebodies precepts on how we should consider our history".
