Sergei Mironov: "The USA don’t want to share with Saakashvili the responsibility for Tskhinvaly drama"
August 15. The Chairman of the Council of Federation Sergei Mironov said: “The world community sees the situation in South Ossetia reflected in the false mirror of lie, up side down. The political leaders of several countries describe Russia as an aggressor that had attacked small Georgia. The disingenuous politics of double standards enjoys its triumph.
The United States and their satellites easily closed their eyes on the thousands of sacrifices caused by Saakashvili’s military adventure while much of them are civilians of South Ossetia.
These countries have ignored the execution of the Russian peace-makers. They haven’t heard crying of the hundreds buried under the ruins. The sledge information and diplomatic attack was carried on Russia. They want us to step back and only imitate the intervention into the conflict.
But very soon it became clear that such a tactic against Russia is not effective. The leaders of France and Finland as well as OSCE representatives could see the humanitarian disaster in South Ossetia with their own eyes. And then the USA and its allies did back down. They had no will to share with the Saakashvili’s regime the responsibility for the bloody military adventure.
The unambiguous condemnation of
Russia was rejected by the UN Security Council.
Washington has agreed the six terms of crisis settlement worked out by the President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev and his French Colleague Nicolas Sarkosy. Powerful American mass media started speaking that the
USA wouldn’t be able to solve a number of problems, including the one of the Iran Atom, without
Russia. Authoritative American diplomats publicly distance themselves from Saakashvili. This is the future of all political stooges – their masters use every chance to remind them that they are not necessary for long”.
