Sergei Mironov commented on the outcome of presidential election in Poland

July, 6. Chairman of the Federation Council Sergei Mironov have talked to the press and commented on the outcome of presidential election in Poland.

Sergei Mironov noted that the choice made by the Polish people is very important for us, as our nations are connected through the centuries of history. “Sometimes this history separated us. But there has always been mutual interest and cooperation between the two nations”, - Sergei Mironov stressed.

“When this tragedy happened to Poland, we in Russia felt like it was our own tragedy, and it made our two countries much closer. I hope that the new President of Poland Bronislaw Komorowski shall stand to those positive changes in the relationship between our countries. It will do only good to both countries. I’d like to congratulate President of the Republic of Poland and wish him good luck!”
