Meeting with Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu

July, 1. Chairman of the Federation Council Sergei Mironov has met President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.

The parties have discussed a wide range of interparliamentary cooperation issues. Sergei Mironov noted that some positive changes have been going on in PACE recently. He also suggested that the activities of the Assembly and the Council of Europe should include the discussion of a broader spectrum of issues. “We shouldn’t forget that there are many issues that are important to the Europeans besides democracy and human rights”, - Sergei Mironov noted.

PACE President has agreed that the range of issues discussed should be broader and include humanitarian and social issues. He expressed his gratitude to Russia for its energetic interparliamentary activities and a considerable input in the work of international parliamentary organizations and forums.
